Karl Marx once said: "Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart
of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of
the people".
Given the decrease in people’s attendance
at churches over the past 40-50 years and the epidemic level increase in the
use of opioids, I am starting to wonder if the reverse could now be true, as opiates
now seem to be the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless
world, and the soul of soulless conditions…and the new religion of the people.
Or maybe it's Donald Trump.
